Carlos Cabré Domínguez
Carlos is the Founding Principal of Barrio Development Partners, LLC, a 100% minority-owned real estate and technology firm focused on investment, development, and advisory services. Carlos was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, raised outside of Dallas, Texas, and now resides in Brooklyn, New York.
Inspired by the work of his grandfather, once the Director for Historical Monuments at the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, his mother, a real estate attorney, his father, a civil and structural engineer, and his aunt, a licensed architect, Carlos has always been passionate about the built environment and the vital role it plays in society.
Carlos is an innovative housing professional with a background in finance, government, and real-estate development. He began his career at JPMorganChase as a Commercial Real Estate Analyst with the Community Development Banking team, where Carlos underwrote and pitched creative affordable housing projects amounting to over $500M in facilities across the Eastern Seaboard. Following his time at the bank, Carlos served as a Project Manager on the Transactions Team on the Real Estate Development Division of the New York City Housing Authority. While at NYCHA, Carlos was entrusted with responsibilities that ranged from day-to-day management to directly addressing critical project elements on multiple PACT-RAD projects totaling over 7,000 units. Prior to founding Barrio Development Partners, Carlos was among the first hires at a privately-owned MWBE affordable housing developer, where he was responsible for the predevelopment of a 311-unit scattered-site rehabilitation and rent-restructuring project in the Bronx, due diligence and analysis on development & acquisition-rehab opportunities, and building operational infrastructure.
Carlos received a diploma from Jesuit Dallas — a place he credits for helping shape him into a Man for Others — and a Bachelor of Science from Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business, where he was named an Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar in recognition of his service and leadership.
